What is Primavera Press all about?

My inspiration for Primavera Press came while in college, in a bookmaking class. I was tasked to create a press name before learning to make a single book, as all bookmakers have them. I decided on 'primavera' because spring is my favorite season! (the use of the Spanish word is simply because I am a native Spanish speaker)

I create as a means of self expression, exploration, and because it feels as though my hands were meant to. With Primavera Press I hope to share my art with the world by placing beautiful and interesting handmade creations into people's lives. 

What is your background, and what kind of art do you create?

I am a printmaker, photographer, and bookmaker. I graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design with a degree in photography, where I also minored in printmaking. I primarily work with linocut within my Primavera Press work, and all of my inspiration comes from my love of nature.

In my personal work I vary in process, though often times combining photo and print together. I focus on themes of self-expression and exploration. You can find my personal work here.

What is your life like outside of art?

When I am not creating, I am a mother to three beautiful cats (yes they are my children don't argue with me) and I work as a bartender. I love reading mysteries, going on walks, and playing games with friends.
